Grant Thornton has announced a takeover of PwC’s offices in the Dutch Caribbean.

The PwC practice comprises offices in Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and St. Maarten, and Grant Thornton already has a presence in 13 locations across the Caribbean. The expansion will give the mid-tier firm a strong foothold in a strategically important market. The Dutch Caribbean is a major site of tax planning, with financial and trade flows between the US and the Netherlands.

Managing partner Steve Vanenburg will oversee the firm’s expansion, alongside four other partners including Edsel Lopez and Hans Ruiter based in Aruba and Paul van Vliet and Herbert Beldman based in St. Maarten.
