AKD Benelux expands Belgian tax practice

Werner Heyvaert_ITR

Werner Heyvaert has joined AKD Benelux as a partner in the firm’s tax practice. Heyvaert brings more than 30 years of experience to the team.

The TAXE committee of the European Parliament called in Heyvaert as an expert in the LuxLeaks case. He has strong expertise in corporate tax, particularly institutional and transactional, as well as dispute resolution, advanced tax rulings and transfer pricing.

Before joining AKD, Heyvaert was a partner at De Langhe Attorneys, Jones Day, Stibbe and NautaDutilh. He has served clients from a wide variety of industries, such as banking, private equity, energy and pharmaceuticals, among others.

He is currently a vice chairman of the legal and tax committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium, as well as a board member and treasurer of the Belgian Association of Tax Lawyers (BATL).
