Biography

Huong Vu is a partner in tax & advisory services, including the Japanese business service desk and Korean business service desk of EY Vietnam. She is the office managing partner of Hanoi office and EY's Hanoi tax leader. She is also the general director of EY Consulting Vietnam Ltd.

Huong Vu has more than 20 years' experience in tax and regulatory consulting in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. She is a member of CPA Australia, member of the standing committee of Vietnam Tax Consultants' Association (VTCA), and deputy director of Vietnam CFO Club. She is also lecturer in ACCA Tax courses, frequent keynote speaker/writer on Tax issues at Vietnam Business Forum and various seminars and publications of Vietnam Tax Consultants' Association, Vietnam Investment Review, Securities Investment magazine, Vietnam Economic Times, Vietnam National Television VTV1, VTV3, etc.

Huong has a particularly in-depth understanding of Vietnam legal system and various tax and investment regulations. She leads a team of experienced and multi-disciplinary professionals in servicing clients, focusing on Foreign Invested Companies. She is involved in:

  • Tax review, tax controversy, tax litigation support;

  • Tax due diligences and international tax structuring advices for cross border transactions in areas such as tax effective acquisition, transfer pricing planning, reorganizations, M&A etc;

  • Inbound investment including market entry, exit, business expansion, tax incentives including negotiation with the Government to achieve favorable outcomes for clients;

  • Tax compliance and advisory on corporate income tax, VAT, foreign contractor tax, import – export taxes; and

  • Human capital services, especially expatriate tax services for Vietnam encompassing global mobility compliance, tax planning and cross-border advisory for a broad base of foreign companies doing business in Vietnam.
