UK Supreme Court dismisses Rank Group appeal on gambling machine VAT

The UK Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal by the Rank Group – a European gaming business operator – in which the taxpayer argued that income from some of its machines should not be subject to VAT as they were not ‘gaming machines’ under the common definition.
