Senate Foreign Relations committee holds hearing on tax treaties

The Senate Foreign Relations committee, the US congressional body responsible for formulating foreign policy, held a hearing Wednesday on pending treaties related to taxation and transparency in reporting.
Five
high-ranking US government officials testified about the details of the
agreements during the meeting.
The
committee discussed protocols amending treaties with Switzerland, Luxembourg
and a convention with Hungary. The latter two also have sections on the
prevention of tax evasion.
