Tax

EY’s Colombian tax group is comprised of three hundred and seventy members across four offices. The team assists foreign clients investing in Colombia, particularly in the areas of large acquisitions and reorganizations. The firm has focused efforts on Tax Technology solutions, taking a leading role in developing electronic invoices and electronic payroll.

Recently the firm advised on a foreign investment deal involving a mining company with operations in Colombia. The deal was complex in nature due to its cross border elements as well and sophisticated tax implementation for the deal. EY also advised on a corporate demerger as well as the resulting restructuration for the newly independent operations.

EY has been active in recruitment over the past year and has brought on three new partners to their tax group. The team welcomes María de la Luz Arbeláez, Jose Romero, and Ruth Yamile Salcedo. Maria joins the firm from Arbelaez & Asociados Abogados, Jose joins from International Monetary Fund, and Ruth joins from Pardo Carrero & Salcedo Younes Asesores Jurídicos.
