Mark Trivette and Paras Motiram have joined the Atlanta office of Alvarez & Marsal, Taxand USA.

Trivette brings more than 30 years of technical experience in US and foreign income taxation of corporations and their shareholders to his new role as managing director.

He has advised public and private clients in such sectors as consumer and industrial products, manufacturing and distribution, retail, technology, telecommunications, financial services, health care and energy. Trivette focuses on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions (M&A), dispositions, divestitures, restructurings, reorganisations, investments and financings, as well as tax controversy resolution, compliance and financial statement reporting.

Before joining Alvarez & Marsal, Trivette served as vice president of global tax at Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services, where he was responsible for all aspects of tax administration. Before that, Trivette was a partner with EY in the firm’s transaction advisory services practice, providing M&A tax due diligence, structuring and post-merger integration services to public and private clients in a variety of industries.

Motiram joins the firm as a senior director. He specialises in advising real estate and private equity clients, with a focus on federal and multi-state taxation for partnership, real estate investment trust (REIT) and corporate entities.

Previously, Motiram served as a tax manager in the real estate tax services group of PwC in Atlanta. With more than 10 years of flow-through and corporate tax experience, he has advised real estate funds, public and private REITs, and private equity funds on such matters as compliance, partner capital account maintenance and foreign inbound investment withholding requirements.

Motiram has also advised real estate clients across various sectors, including multi-family, mixed-use, retail, industrial and hospitality, as well as private equity clients involved in the consumer products, restaurant and consumer services sectors.
