Luke Barlow, Deloitte South Africa, is a corporate tax partner and the leader of the tax practice in Cape Town. He has 30 years of experience consulting in the field of taxation. Luke has extensive experience advising multinational and national enterprises with particular emphasis on the financial services and energy and resources sectors.
In addition to his involvement with tax dispute resolution matters he has been involved in a number of acquisitions and restructures where he has advised on the efficient structuring of the transactions. Luke also has extensive practical experience in advising on the taxation aspects of private equity investments and management buyouts (MBOs) and leveraged buyouts (LBOs). He has been involved in due diligence reviews of, among others, large companies in the hospitality, retail, energy and resources and life insurance industries.
Luke has advised on, inter alia, a number of structured finance transactions, hybrid capital structures and securitised debt issues.
Luke studied at the University of Cape Town where he graduated with degrees in taxation, accounting and law. He is a South Africa chartered accountant and is an advocate of the High Court.

Nazrien Kader, Deloitte South Africa, is a member of the executive committee of Deloitte Africa, the managing partner for Deloitte taxation services in Africa (representing 15 English-speaking countries), and a member of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) tax and legal executive. Nazrien is responsible for the strategic direction, operational execution and overall leadership of the Africa tax executive. Nazrien also leads the financial services industry tax (FIST) team for Deloitte Africa.
Nazrien has more than 23 years of experience in the area of corporate tax. She advises clients primarily in the financial services industry (her clients include global corporate listed multinational entities) across the spectrum of income tax issues.
Over the past two decades, Nazrien has played a senior advisory role in several major complex corporate transactions. These mandates have included structuring from an income tax perspective, tax opinions on specific transactions, application to the respective revenue authority for specific dispensation where there is ambiguity, tax dispute resolution and restructuring to avoid penal consequences.
Nazrien is often invited to speak at tax conferences and tax seminars and has authored articles in a number of tax publications and newspapers. Nazrien regularly participates in panel discussions on national television and on tax proposals and developments.
Nazrien (a chartered accountant with a master's degree in tax law) has held several positions both within and outside of Deloitte since joining the firm in early 1995. She served as an ambassador for the Association of Black Securities & Investment Professionals (ABSIP): women in focus initiative, she is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) disciplinary panel and a member of the Income Tax Court of South Africa. She currently serves as technical adviser to the CFO Forum, South Africa. Some of her more prominent roles have included being a former member of the board of SAICA, a former director of the Thuthuka Education Upliftment Fund, former chair of the SAICA eastern region taxation committee and past-president of the SAICA eastern region executive.

Louise Vosloo, Deloitte South Africa, is a lead director of international tax based in the Woodlands office. She has more than 21 years of experience at Deloitte in taxation. She specialises in assisting a variety of listed companies and their subsidiaries, as well as multinational enterprises with a wide variety of tax matters. She has experience in financing schemes, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and structuring of inbound and outbound investments and dispute resolutions.
She is the lead tax director for major listed groups, many of them being JSE Top 100 companies.
Prior to joining Deloitte South Africa in the tax department, Louise gained valuable tax experience during the course of her employment as a tax advocate appearing for the Commissioner for the South African Revenue Service (SARS) against senior counsel. She continues to assist clients with disputes involving SARS.
