AIG hires new deputy tax director

International insurance company American International Group (AIG) has appointed former IRS deputy chief counsel, technical, Clarissa Potter, as its deputy tax director.

Potter will be tasked with taking care of AIG’s global tax planning, working under AIG’s vice president and director of tax, Tal Kaissar.

During her time with the IRS, Potter also held the role of acting chief counsel between December 2008 and August 2009. She has also worked in the Office for Tax Policy for the US Treasury Department and started her career with Sullivan & Cromwell in New York.
