FTI Consulting adds to indirect tax expertise

Henk Hop, chief executive officer of Global VAT Compliance, is joining FTI Consulting as a senior managing director in its European tax advisory team after the acquisition of his firm by the global business advisers.

Based in The Hague, Netherlands, Global VAT Compliance provides  international VAT advice and reporting services to medium-sized and large multinational companies, covering every aspect of VAT compliance including registration, representation and reporting.

FTI Consulting said the acquisition strengthens its tax advisory practice, and complements the existing corporate tax work it does in the UK and worldwide through the WTS Alliance. The practice covers topics such as transaction tax, real estate tax, transfer pricing and R&D tax relief, and also works with  the firm's corporate finance/ restructuring specialists.
