FTI consulting adds three senior managing directors in Europe

Global business advisory firm FTI Consulting has appointed Sarah Lane, Peter Scholes and Ben Tausig as senior managing directors. The trio join from KPMG.

Lane has almost 20 years of experience in banking and international tax and advises mainly on the interaction between tax and regulation. She also has experienced in buy-side and sell-side M&A and cross-border issues such as diverted profits and tax controversy.

At KPMG, she was a partner in financial services and indirect tax. A qualified solicitor, she will lead FTI Consulting’s tax team’s financial services group.

Scholes has been working in UK and international tax for more than 25 years, most recently as head of financing and treasury tax for KPMG’s international tax and treasury practice. He also has experience in banking, having managed the UK and international tax teams at BNP Paribas from 2001 to 2010.

He has experience advising inbound and outbound UK clients on all aspects of group financing and international structuring, and will lead FTI Consulting’s treasury tax services team.

Tausig has been advising multinational insurance groups on tax and capital-efficient structuring, UK and US controlled foreign company (CFC) rules and overall tax strategy for the past 14 years. He also works with private equity firms, and helps assists clients with acquisitions, during which he provides tax due diligence and structuring advice.

Tausig has worked in both London and New York, most recently for KPMG’s Lloyd’s and London market tax practice. In his new role he will lead FTI Consulting’s insurance tax offering.
