EY has taken on three new leadership roles in its New York office.

Peter Mahoney has been named EY's Americas real estate tax sector leader. He has been at EY for almost 25 years in the New York/New England practice and in the national tax department advising clients in the real estate, private equity and venture capital areas on REITs, funds and partnership tax matters. Mahoney's new role will expand the sector network across regions to operate as an integrated real estate team.

Thomas Minor has been appointed as EY's new Americas mining and metals tax sector leader as a member of the national tax department's energy group. Minor has worked at EY for 27 years in the mining and metals industry where he advised clients on transformative transactions both domestically and abroad. 

Petter Wendel resize

The Americas tax private equity leadership role has been taken on by Petter Wendel. The former Americas tax private equity leader, Jeff Hecht, will become the global tax private equity leader. Wendel has been a partner at EY for eight years. Before joining EY, he was the CEO of an investment firm for three years and before that an executive managing director of the asset finance subsidiary of financial institution.
