KPMG has appointed Danielle Rolfes as a partner in the firm's Washington national tax practice to co-head the international tax group.

Rolfes previously served as counsel at the Department of Treasury where she was the principal legal adviser on international tax policy. During her tenure, she also represented US interests regarding the OECD’s BEPS initiative, negotiated more than 100 intergovernmental agreements to implement the US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, oversaw the development of more than 100 items of published guidance, including regulations to address tax inversions, and published in 2016 the first comprehensive update to the US model income tax treaty in a decade.

Before working at the Treasury, Rolfes was a partner in the tax division of Ivins, Phillips & Barker. In this role, she advised multinationals in international tax planning, controversy, compliance and tax accounting matters.
