New partner arrives at Mayer Brown

Mayer Brown has appointed Jeffrey Davis as a partner in the tax transactions practice in its Washington, DC office. Davis' practice focuses on tax credit transactions. He has experience in structuring and negotiating transactions involving investments in projects that are eligible for certain tax credits and that generally are owned through partnerships and limited liability companies, and on the financing of tax credit-eligible renewable energy projects. He was formerly a partner at McKee Nelson.

Field Fisher Waterhouse steals Herbert Smith partner

European law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse has poached partner Derek Hill from Herbert Smith. He will join the firm's London office this month. Hill has experience in the media sector and in providing renewable energy tax advice.
