Webber and Scheer step up at Baker & McKenzie

Two tax partners are beneficiaries of changes in Baker & McKenzie’s leadership team.

Duane Webber, a partner in Washington, DC, is the new chairman of the global tax practice, while his predecessor, Erik Scheer, has been appointed to the firm’s executive committee.

Webber advises clients on international and domestic tax litigation. He works on the resolution of federal income tax controversies with the IRS, including a wide variety of alternative dispute resolution techniques, as well as all administrative phases of a controversy through litigation.

As well as chairing the global tax practice, Scheer was managing partner of Baker & McKenzie’s Amsterdam office from 2006 to 2008. He is also a tax litigator and has extensive experience in advising clients in VAT and customs.
