Marval, O'Farrell & Mairal promotes Vaquero to partner

Argentinian firm Marval, O'Farrell & Mairal has promoted senior associate Fernando Vaquero to partner.

Vaquero is particularly experienced in advising on the tax aspects of M&A transactions, corporate restructuring, financing, securitisations and real estate projects. In addition, he has a wealth of experience in tax litigation.

The promotion comes at the same time that Marval has promoted two other senior associates to the partnership: Diego Kelly moves up in the labour and employment department, while Juan López Mañán steps up in the firm's intellectual property team.

Before joining the firm, Vaquero worked for both Diaz y Asociados (Arthur Andersen) and the Argentinian Ministry of Economy.

He has degrees in law and accountancy from the University of Buenos Aires, and has published several books on international taxation.
