Sanjeev Fernandez, Deloitte Australia, is a partner in the indirect tax practice. Sanjeev works across the Sydney and Western Sydney Deloitte offices in New South Wales and leads the Western Sydney indirect tax practice.

Sanjeev has more than 12 years' experience in advising clients on a range of indirect taxes including GST as well as fuel tax credits and customs and excise. Gary Funston, Deloitte Australia, leads the Melbourne indirect tax team.

Gary has more than 25 years' experience providing indirect tax services in professional services firms, including more than 15 years as a partner. He advises many of Australia's leading corporate and government clients in all aspects of indirect tax law, including matters that have been successfully litigated in the Federal Court of Australia. He is regularly sought out by the Corporate Tax Association to present to its members on GST and other indirect tax matters.

Gary has a bachelor of commerce degree from Melbourne University as well as an MBA from Melbourne Business School.

Jon Graham, Deloitte Australia, is the Asia Pacific indirect tax leader and chief operations officer for tax.

Jon has more than 27 years of experience advising on global value added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST) customs duty, excise and fuel tax. He has held a variety of roles during his career, including VAT inspector with the UK revenue authority, HM Revenue & Customs, in-house VAT manager with Hambros Bank in London and partner in charge of the indirect tax team for Deloitte Scotland and Northern Ireland.

In 1999, Jon was seconded to Australia for two years to assist clients with the implementation of the GST. He returned permanently to Australia in March 2006 and is based in Deloitte Australia's Sydney office.

Jon advises across many industry sectors and on all aspects of indirect tax planning and compliance. He has a reputation for providing innovative and practical solutions to clients in the field of indirect tax, including assisting clients with disputes through alternative dispute resolution and litigation and negotiation with senior levels in tax authorities.

John Koutsogiannis, Deloitte Australia, is the partner in charge of the indirect tax team, which includes approximately 75 dedicated indirect tax specialists, 11 of whom are partners.

Anastasia Little, Deloitte Australia, a partner within the Perth indirect tax practice has more than 15 years' experience advising on the commercial implications and technical aspects of indirect taxes (including, GST, fuel taxes, customs and VAT) across the oil & gas, hard rock mining, utilities and retail sectors.

Before Anastasia's 12 years consulting within the Big 4, she was a part of the Australian Tax Office's review and litigation team, helping to shape the tax landscape through GST's implementation in 2000.

Anastasia has extensive experience in advising on international VAT and customs issues, in consultation with Deloitte's national customs team. Her experience extends to advising on GST and fuel tax compliance and risks, notably in the mining, oil and gas and related service industries. Rodger Muir, Deloitte Australia, is a partner in the New South Wales indirect tax team, working closely with seven indirect tax partners and approximately other 70 staff nationwide.

He has more than 30 years of experience working with GST in Australia and New Zealand, and has been a partner with international accounting firms since 1988. In 1999 he moved to Australia to assist with the introduction of GST and has been in practice as an indirect tax consulting partner ever since.

Rodger has provided a wide range of GST advisory services to both corporate and government clients, and has significant experience in the financial services and government sectors. This experience includes system and process review, Australia Taxation Office interaction, apportionment methodology innovation and review, the application of analytics within the GST environment, and complex transactions. He has also worked extensively on M&A, from due diligence and transaction structuring on acquisition, day-to-day compliance in GST matters post acquisition and GST considerations on disposal.

Amelia O'Rourke, Deloitte Australia, is a director in the indirect tax practice in Sydney. She has almost 20 years of experience advising on indirect taxes and has held a variety of consulting, corporate and government roles over the course of her career.

Amelia advises large corporate clients on all aspects of GST across a range of industry sectors. She is particularly recognised the depth of her financial services knowledge, having previously worked for five years as an in-house GST advisor for two of Australia's largest financial institutions.

Amelia has extensive experience in interacting with revenue authorities, including audit defence and dispute resolution, and is regularly consulted by the Commissioner of Taxation on GST technical matters.

Amelia began her career in the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and was a member of the team that designed and drafted Australia's GST legislation. She has performed the role of assistant commissioner responsible for liaison between the ATO, Treasury and Parliament and has also worked in the Assistant Treasurer's office and in the Treasury's indirect tax policy group.

Kevin O'Rourke, Deloitte Australia, is a partner in the indirect tax practice in Sydney and has more than 30 years of taxation experience in both the public and private sector. He advises major corporate clients on all aspects of GST.

Kevin has a number of leading roles within the tax profession. Jonathan Paul, Deloitte Australia, leads the indirect taxes group in Brisbane.

Jonathan started his career in Deloitte UK's London office. In early 2000, with the introduction of the GST in full swing, he moved to Australia. Jonathan has more than sixteen years' experience advising some of Australia's largest companies, as well as international and government clients on all aspects of GST.
