Baker & McKenzie takes on new tax leader

Jukka Karjalainen has been appointed to the partner-equivalent role of tax leader for Baker & McKenzie’s UK business transformation practice in London.

Karjalainen will be advising clients on the design, implementation and defence of complex cross-border restructurings, while working closely with the firm’s corporate reorganisations practice group.

Karjalainen joins the practice from Deloitte where he was tax leader of the Big 4 firm’s business model optimisation practice and a partner in its London transfer pricing group.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in dealing with transfer pricing and international corporate tax issues and has practiced in a number of jurisdictions including Finland and Australia.
