Join ITR for a free webinar on February 4 as senior tax practitioners from BDO India analyse a highly significant ruling by the Indian Supreme Court

The Indian Supreme Court’s decision in the Tiger Global case on January 15 2026 has far-reaching implications for cross-border investments in the country. A webinar moderated by ITR and featuring leading tax experts from BDO India will unpick everything you need to know.

The landmark ruling has significantly reshaped the conversation around treaty benefits, grandfathering protection, substance requirements, and the application of anti-avoidance provisions. The case is expected to influence how investments are structured, risks are assessed, and exits are planned.

BDO India’s Munjal Almoula, a managing partner, and Prashant Bhojwani, a partner, will be sharing their insights on the following key discussion themes:

  • The impact of the Tiger Global ruling on treaty eligibility, including indirect transfers;

  • The relevance of grandfathering provisions vis-à-vis anti-avoidance provisions;

  • Enhanced substance expectations for investment structures;

  • Exit and intragroup restructuring planning considerations for legacy and future investments; and

  • What and how global investors should reassess now.

This session will be particularly relevant for multinationals, private equity stakeholders, tax leaders, and legal counsel with business interests in India. The webinar will include the opportunity to raise questions for our speakers.

Register now and join us at 12.30pm GMT (6pm Indian Standard Time) on February 4.
