John McGowan takes over Deloitte's national tax technology practice in US

John McGowan has joined Deloitte in the US as a partner and leader of its national tax technology practice. He will help drive the technology strategy and application development for Deloitte's tax business in the US.

McGowan was formerly KPMG's chief information officer for global tax. At Deloitte  he will focus on helping clients use tax technology to solve complex business issues. The US tax practice consists of more than 500 tax technology professionals and more than 100 technology tools and services. McGowan is a certified public accountant and has a master's degree in accounting and a bachelor's degree in science.
