Americas top talent triumphs at awards

The big-four accounting firms swept the board at International Tax Review's third annual Americas Tax Awards at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York on October 2.

 

The big-four accounting firms swept the board at International Tax Review's third annual Americas Tax Awards at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York on October 2.

PricewaterhouseCoopers scooped six awards, including Latin American Tax Firm of the Year. Deloitte also won six including Latin American Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year. KPMG and Deloitte picked up five and four trophies respectively.

The other pan-American award winners were Osler Hoskin & Harcourt for North America tax litigation, Lefosse Advogados in cooperation with Linklaters for Latin America tax litigation and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom for North America Tax Firm of the Year.

Thirty-eight firm of the year awards in nine countries, including six US cities were also presented. The categories covered were transfer pricing, tax litigation and overall tax practice. Awards were given to tax transaction of the year in Latin America and North America. Special awards including the Editors' Choice award, Best Use of the Internet and Best Newcomer in the Americas, which went to Taxand, were given out, too.
