Baker & McKenzie wins tax firm of the year at International Tax Review's European awards

The best international tax advisers in Europe gathered at Claridge's in London last Wednesday night to celebrate the best in tax work done over the past year and to receive awards for excellence in tax services

The best international tax advisers in Europe gathered at Claridge's in London last Wednesday night to celebrate the best in tax work done over the past year and to receive awards for excellence in tax services.

Baker & McKenzie picked up the coveted European tax firm of the year award, presented by Michael Templeman, tax director of Schroders Investment Management. There were honours for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the European transfer pricing firm of the year category, presented by Henning Lauritsen, tax director of Carlsberg Breweries.

Linklaters were crowned European tax litigation firm of the year and Dewey Ballantine won the award for the best US tax firm of the year in Europe.

Tax advisers from the leading law and accounting firms in Europe and in-house tax specialists from multinational companies, including British Telecom, Carlsberg, Deutsche Bank, GE and Schroders Investment Management, attended International Tax Review's inaugural awards dinner.

There were also awards for national tax firm of the year in 13 European countries and national transfer pricing firm of the year awards in 11 countries.
