Karina Furga-Dabrowska is a partner in Dentons' Warsaw office and head of the tax group in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe.

Karina advises on international tax planning, tax effective structuring of transactions including mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructurings. She has a successful track record in representing clients in disputes with tax and customs authorities and provides specialist advice in relation to transfer pricing and day-to-day tax affairs.

She has particular sector experience in areas including life sciences and healthcare, real estate and energy.

Karina has been a certified tax adviser since 2003. She is a graduate of Wroclaw University (master of laws, 1998) and Nijmegen University, the Netherlands (LLM degree in European business law, 1999).

Iwona holds the position of partner and manages Deloitte's transfer pricing team in Poland and Deloitte's regional transfer pricing group for Central and Eastern Europe. She is a member of Deloitte's global transfer pricing controversy council.

During her professional career of more than 20 years, she has gained significant experience and become a leading Polish specialist in transfer pricing. Her industry experience includes, among others: consumer goods, high-tech industry, media and energy.

In 2006 Iwona negotiated the first cross-border APA in Poland. She leads Deloitte Poland's team that has a 40% market share of all APAs negotiated in Poland.

She is also actively involved in transfer pricing disputes resolution, litigation work and standing before courts.

Iwona is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA). She is also a private-sector member of the European Union Joint Transfer Pricing Forum (EUJTPF), being the only adviser from Central and Eastern Europe holding this role.

She has authored numerous tax advisory publications for professional magazines and lectured at many tax conferences and courses.

Iwona has been a featured advisor in the Euromoney Guide to the World's Leading Transfer Pricing Advisers.
