Uday has more than 30 years of experience in M&A, inbound and outbound tax structuring, cross-border transactions, and global reorganisations. He has held positions with big four firms as national head of tax at KPMG India, global tax partner of Andersen India, and co-head of tax at RSM (Ratan S Mama, India).
Uday has co-authored a book titled General Anti-Avoidance Rules (GAAR): Establishing Substance Over Form.
Over the years, he has interacted extensively with the Central Board of Direct Taxes and regulatory bodies in India in making representations on important international and domestic tax as well as regulatory issues. Uday’s clients have included Indian and foreign multinational companies in multiple sectors, including infrastructure, technology, advertising and service, manufacturing, retail, and pharmaceutical. Uday has been involved in advising and assisting various family offices and corporates in, for example, M&A transactions, restructuring, and succession planning in connection with tax, valuation, financial, and regulatory matters over several decades.
