The tax department at Estudio O'Farrell has gained an important reputation in seven main areas: energy taxation, new tax on extraordinary wealth, complex tax litigation, local taxation, transfer pricing disputes, social security taxes, disputes on tax inflation adjustments, conflict between double conventions and local regulations.

During the research period, the team’s leading case 'Telefónica' had a crucial impact on the market. The case was decided by the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, establishing jurisprudence on the inflation adjustment applicable to tax losses, an aspect that is relevant for all companies in Argentina, especially in the post-pandemic stage. The case represents a landmark decision which encourages other companies to litigate the issue and, at the same time, an important precedent for companies and colleagues which are currently litigating the same issue before the judicial court and tax administration.
