Houthoff hires new TP counsel from VEON

Dutch firm Houthoff has hired TP specialist Rezan Ökten as counsel as part of its tax practice. Ökten joins the practice after several years working in-house at VEON and Liberty Global.

After five years working in-house, Ökten has extensive knowledge of the telecommunications industry and the high-tech sector. He has also lectured on international tax at the University of Amsterdam and the IBFD on financial transactions.

During his time at Deloitte and KPMG, Ökten helped multinational companies deal with a wide variety of TP issues including intangibles, restructuring, cost allocation models and financial transactions. He has is an expert in the TP aspects of intangibles.

Ökten will advise Houthoff’s clients on transfer pricing matters as part of the firm’s tax team. He will work alongside key figures at the tax practice such as Sylvia Dikmans, Rob Havenga, Paulus Merks and Alexander van der Voort Maarschalk.
