Freshfields gets new global head

Colin Hargreaves will be the new global head of tax for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Stephan Eilers, the previous holder of the position, was elected executive partner of the firm recently.

Hargreaves will take over the two-year post from January. He is head of the firm’s London tax group, and is a corporate tax lawyer with experience in the tax aspects of corporate finance transactions, banking and tax-based structured and asset finance. He has particular sector experience in the financial services, healthcare, utilities and infrastructure sectors.
