Norton Rose Fulbright’s internal promotion

On January 1 2016, Norton Rose Fulbright promoted Peter Smith to partner. Smith works out of the firm’s tax practice in Austin, Texas.

Smith focuses on the tax aspects of public finance transactions, serving as tax counsel on a broad range of financing activity including bonds issued by large cities, counties, utilities, universities, hospital districts and school districts.

Smith joined the firm in 2007 and has served as tax counsel on a broad range of tax-exempt financings.

In addition to public finance transactions, Smith has advised a number of large global energy companies on the tax consequences associated with offshore exploration and the exploitation of natural resources.
