Kathleen Russ will succeed Chris Hale as senior partner of Travers Smith, effective July 1 2019.

The move follows Russ’s tenure as head of the firm’s London tax department between 2007 and 2017.

Russ, a member of the firm’s partnership board and a specialist in private equity transactions, has also served since January 2017 as non-executive director on the board of the UK government’s Office of Tax Simplification.
