During this webinar, participants discussed:

  • The latest trends and TP developments in Asia and US;

  • Became aware of  common areas of transfer disputes in both regions and tips to resolve them;

  • Grasped the key differences and features of each region relevant for tax managers and CFO; and 

  • Learned about the impact of the latest OECD initiatives on transfer pricing in both regions.

The discussion was led by Ivo Santamaria - director for BaseFirma’s international TP group - and Adriana Calderon - co-founder of Transfer Pricing Solutions Asia.

Audiences from across the world joined us on September 15 to learn more from the experts on the happening TP trends emerging from the US and Asia.

The webinar at 2pm London time (9am Miami time / 9pm Singapore time) was moderated by ITR’s Prin Shasiharan. The webinar was followed by a Q&A session.

Ivo Santamaria is a director for BaseFirma’s international TP group in Miami, Florida. He has 15 years’ experience in technical TP analysis, including the creation of operational TP models. Before joining BaseFirma’s Miami team, he spent one year at BaseFirma’s office in Madrid and worked for seven years as a senior manager for BaseFirma’s Venezuelan office. He has specialised knowledge of Venezuelan tax legislation, as well as extensive knowledge regarding North American and European markets and tax legislation.

Ivo has managed and coordinated global documentation projects for multinationals located in Latin America, the US, and Europe.  He currently provides consultation and documentation assistance for large and medium-sized companies located in Europe, the US, the Asia-Pacific region, Canada, and various Latin American countries. He has broad experience in market analysis and has been involved in the production of TP studies for companies operating in numerous industries since 2002.

Ivo studied industrial engineering at the Politécnico di Milano University in Italy and graduated with a degree in economics from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas.

Adriana Calderon is the co-founder of Transfer Pricing Solutions Asia. She has extensive international experience with Big Four and mid-tier firms advising multinational companies in the areas of corporate and international taxation across South America, the US, Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. 

As a TP practitioner, Adriana has advised companies in the Asia-Pacific region across various industries and in a wide range of projects associated with planning, compliance and dispute resolutions with tax authorities. She has also participated in specialised projects involving the pricing of financial transactions, business restructures and negotiation of advance pricing agreements (APAs). Most recently, she has participated in TP planning projects to implement BEPS's Action Plan and country-by-country reporting.

Adriana also enjoys teaching and is a regular speaker and facilitator of TP seminars and workshops. She is a TP trainer for the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals. She has also facilitated training sessions for chief financial officers, tax teams of large companies and consultancies, and tax executives at the Australian Taxation Office.
