Jordan’s term as commissioner was due at the end of 2019, but will now run until February 29 2024. Jordan’s demonstrable leadership has helped the Turnbull Government in its implementation of strong tax avoidance laws. The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has confirmed that this year it has raised A$2.9 billion ($2.2 billion) in tax liabilities against multinational companies.
Katf will hold his position as the second commissioner of taxation from May 1 2017 to April 30 2024. Before his appointment, Katf was working as a chief information officer (CIO) for the ATO’s executive team. As second commissioner, Katf will maintain his CIO function. In addition, he will be modernising the revenue collection system and contributing to the government’s broader digital agenda.
