Arthur Sinodinos, Australia’s Assistant Treasurer, today announced the appointment of Andrew Mills as a full-time second commissioner to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Mills, who is currently a director with Greenwoods & Freehills and has also served as president of the The Tax Institute, will hold the role for seven years.

He replaces the outgoing Bruce Quigley, who has retired.

The announcement has been welcomed. David Bradbury, former Assistant Treasurer under the previous Labor government, labelled the appointment "very good" and described Mills as a "highly regarded and respected tax lawyer".
