Baker McKenzie Venezuela has recently seen an increase in transactional work and expects to see continued growth in the upcoming year. The firm takes pride in providing clients with assistance with rapid changes due to operating as part of a larger international framework.  

Baker McKenzie assisted one of their clients, Bardinet with a complex acquisition case involving multiple areas of law, including tax issues, regulatory affairs, import/export duties, transfer of assets, and future tax liabilities. The firm also worked with another client, Cigarrera Bigott (British American Tobacco) on an ongoing analysis of the tax implications of commercial decisions along with organizing fiscal planning alternatives. Baker McKenzie assisted them in fulfilling legal obligations while also strategically planning to optimize the client’s tax position in Venezuela.
