Hungary signs OECD Convention

Hungary has become the 61st signatory to the OECD’s Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters.

Angel Gurria, OECD Secretary-General, who represented the organisation at the signing ceremony alongside Orban Gabor, Hungary’s Minister of State for Taxation and Financial Policy Affairs, welcomed the move.

“Today’s signing is an important signal that Hungary is seriously committed to the international fight against offshore tax avoidance and evasion,” said Gurria, who also commented that the increase in signatories to the convention in recent times – including Chile – reflects the growing levels of international support for exchange of information on request.
