Oil price slump sees China shift tax burden from companies to consumers

As an oil-importing economy, China has come out on top during the global plummet in crude oil prices. To lessen the burden on its own oil producers, Beijing increased the windfall tax threshold, and moderately increased taxes on consumers at the pump on January 12 for the third time in two months.
