California Supreme Court rebuffs appeal on underpayment penalty

The California Supreme Court has decided that it will not hear the appeal of California Taxpayers Association v Franchise Tax Board (FTB), in which the plaintiff sought appeal on the grounds that California’s large corporate underpayment penalty violates the US constitution.
