Alma recruits Bate as R&D specialist

Gavin Bate has joined Alma Consulting Group in the UK as an independent technical expert on R&D.

Bate was formerly KPMG’s head of technical policy on UK R&D tax. Before this, he was lead specialist for R&D and the intangible asset regime for HM Revenue & Customs.

Bate played a key role in HMRC in shaping the government’s R&D tax relief scheme. Before his role as lead specialist, he was a tax inspector for several years.
