Justin Whitehouse, Deloitte Middle East, is a senior tax partner who has specialised in indirect tax for more than 24 years. While he enjoys indirect tax and its complexities, Justin considers his role as an adviser as a way to give clients the most pragmatic and straightforward advice he can so clients can get on with running their business.

Justin is the Deloitte global public sector leader for tax, responsible for coordinating engagements for Deloitte's government clients typically in respect of tax reform and related issues: a role he enjoys as he has played a part in helping to draft and negotiate VAT legislation, including working with the European Commission on VAT & economic studies and helping government apply and form policies on technical issues in many countries with a focus on the Middle East.

Justin has worked with large teams on a wide variety of client engagements in many industries, including litigation, though Justin is best known in the UK market for being a real estate specialist. Justin speaks regularly on technical issues, and he was a member of the British Property Federation VAT committee, is a previous member of the EU VAT Expert Group and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Justin has recently moved back to Dubai as head of indirect tax for Deloitte Middle East where he leads the firm's team advising both private sector and government sector on VAT and indirect tax issues.
