Eversheds hires Paul Beausang as head of real estate tax

Paul Beausang, former head of real estate at Morgan Lewis & Bockius, is now partner and head of real estate tax at Eversheds Sutherland in the UK.

Beausang’s considerable experience will help the firm’s real estate practice deliver niche tax structuring and transactional execution.

Beausang’s experience includes: debt financing and structuring, corporate tax, inward investment, permanent establishment matters and M&A tax negotiation. For more than five years, he has advised in areas such as structured transactions market and spearheaded tax structuring for some niche resident mortgage-backed security (RMBS) structures, and  the combination ofreal estate and hybrid bond structuring.

Beausang will work closely with David Jervis, global co-head of tax, and Cathryn Vanderspar, head of London tax in the real estate division.
