The life of a young tax professional is full of long hours, hard work and intense learning. But now it seems all this effort leads to rewards.
Asmita Paranjpe, a second year chartered accountancy student from India, has established herself as an international taxation leader after winning the Ernst & Young EMEIA Young Tax Professional of the Year Program 2011. She represented India at the competition organised in Paris in September.
The competition saw nine finalists from Russia, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, France and Belgium and India. Each participant represented their national office in the contest, which required the participants to analyse case studies provided to them in the context of international taxation. Paranjpe, the youngest participant aced the competition, winning a visit to Ernst & Young tax centres in Hong Kong, London and Washington, DC.
