Competition will be fierce at 2012 Americas Tax Awards

The awards will be presented during a dinner at the Essex House hotel in New York City on Thursday September 27. Find out here if your firm has been nominated.

The awardswill go to the firms that have shown innovation and ingenuity in their work for clients in in North and South America between June 2011 and June 2012. The winners and runners-up will also be featured in the November 2012 issue of International Tax Review.

Twenty-nine regional and 43 tax, transfer pricing and tax disputes awards on a national or city basis in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, US (Chicago; Houston & Dallas; Los Angeles; New York; San Francisco Bay Area and Washington, DC) and Venezuela.

The regional awards cover tax, transfer pricing, tax disputes and indirect tax, and the leading firms for dealing with tax issues in the industry categories of banking, energy, private equity and media and entertainment, as well as the disciplines of M&A and capital markets. The other awards are for restructuring in North and South America, for tax innovator of the year in the Americas and best newcomer.

In addition to awards for tax advisers and lawyers, four in-house tax departments will also receive recognition, one each for direct and indirect tax in North and South America.
