Awards honour complexity and innovation

The competition to provide advice of the highest quality to taxpayers in Asia was evident at the Asia Tax Awards, which were presented in Singapore on November 23 and which were attended by leading tax directors, officials and practitioners from throughout the region.
A wide range of law and accounting firms took home the 17 regional awards and the national awards for tax, transfer pricing, tax disputes and case of the year in 14 jurisdictions.
PwC was named as Asia Tax Firm of the Year for its strength and depth in a number of areas of tax practice throughout the continent.
Taxand took the Asia Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year category, Indirect Tax Firm of the Year went to Deloitte and Baker & McKenzie was judged to be the top firm for tax disputes work in Asia.
For the first time this year, awards were given out for tax advice by industry sector, such as banking, private equity and energy.
