
Ricardo Ruiz
Ricardo is the partner in charge of KPMG’s Tax & Legal practice in Colombia, and a member of KPMG’s Latin America Tax Hub. He has more than 25 years of experience in domestic and international tax matters, including treaties and pillar two rules, M&A structuring and due diligence, and complex transactions, with expertise in sectors such as banking, insurance, energy, and digital business.
Ricardo was recognised in 2021 as Latin America Tax Practice Leader of the Year by ITR. He is the president of tax affairs at the Colombian-American Chamber of Commerce and director of the International Taxation Program at the Instituto Colombiano de Derecho Tributario, and served as the president of IFA Colombia in 2016.
Ricardo holds an LLM degree in international taxation from the University of Florida, a financial and stock market regulation certification, and an energy regulation certification from Universidad Externado de Colombia. He is a licensed attorney in Colombia, with several publications and articles in the international tax field.
