Prior to the firm’s admission as a full member of the Andersen Global network in January 2021, the firm previously operated under the name ATax Advisors. However, the tax practice of 30 professionals offers a full tax service covering direct and indirect tax, compliance, FATCA, and tax controversy. Tax partner Joe Chan leads the practice.

In November 2022, the tax team represented a building material company in a precedential case before the tax tribunal regarding environmental protection fee, which the Mauritius Tax authority argues the client is subject to pay tax on its wholesale turnover and not partial to the turnover from the designated impugn activities

Case studies show the tax team is acting as the legal advisor for MCB Leasing Limited and MCB Capital Markets before the Mauritius tax authority regarding the disagreement of the taxpayers’ partial exemption of income tax in respect of their interest income.
