Firm overview

Grant Thornton is a global professional services network founded in 1924 in the United States, now operating in over 150 markets with more than 80,000 professionals. The organization has experienced strong international growth, supported by a global network generating $8.5 billion in revenue for the year ending September 30, 2025.

In 2025, Grant Thornton Netherlands joined a multinational platform alongside Grant Thornton US and Ireland, supported by New Mountain Capital. This platform, with nearly 13,000 professionals across 60 offices, strengthens cross-border service delivery and enables enhanced quality, innovation, and client-centric solutions. Within the Netherlands, the firm employs around 800 professionals across eight offices, including over 140 tax and legal specialists. Legal services are now fully integrated into the tax practice, enabling a multidisciplinary service offering.

The firm focuses on key industries such as financial services, healthcare, real estate, transport and logistics, and private wealth. A notable initiative is the Financial Services sector focus launched in 2025, combining expertise in compliance, ESG reporting, risk advisory, and governance. Additionally, the Asian Desk, led by Tax Director Yulai Xu, supports cross-border business between Europe and Asia.

Grant Thornton Netherlands offers a broad range of tax services, including international corporate tax, M&A, transfer pricing, VAT, and sustainability tax. The firm actively collaborates with Dutch tax authorities, particularly in DAC6 policy development.

Sustainability tax has become a core focus, helping clients balance financial performance with regulatory compliance. Services include securing tax incentives, managing ESG reporting (CSRD), and addressing complex regulatory frameworks such as CBAM and EUDR.

The firm also has a strong transaction advisory practice, ranking in M&A league tables for both financial due diligence and tax advisory. Its transfer pricing team continues to grow, supported by international collaboration and strong demand for consulting and controversy services.

Overall, Grant Thornton Netherlands combines global reach with local expertise to deliver integrated, high-quality advisory services across industries.
