The tax practice specialises in tax compliance and advisory, transfer pricing, and international tax. Managing partner Patrick Mawire heads the tax practice and is supported by managers Makusi Nyirenda, transfer pricing and international tax specialist, and Everisto Mwalubulo, Global Compliance and Reporting specialist. As an EY Global and EY Africa member, the Zambian local office leverages its global capabilities in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and AI to help clients improve operational efficiency and drive long-term value. Over the decades assisting market leading enterprises, the tax team has developed its expertise in industries and sectors, such as financial services, energy and natural resources, public sector, telecommunications, consumer goods and retail, healthcare and life sciences, technology, and digital economy. 

In Q4 2024, the team advised VISA on the tax implications of the VAT regulations enacted by the Zambian government in the calendar year.
