Europe's largest telephone company Deutsche Telekom has announced that it is to buy VoiceStream Wireless, a US-based provider of personal communications services, for $50.7 billion in cash and stock.
Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue provided outside tax counsel for VoiceStream, led by Lester Droller who was assisted by partner Candace Ridgway. Les Samuels and David Saltzman of Cleary, Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton provided tax counsel for Deutsche Telekom.
