Hirschfeld has served as chair-elect for the past year and will assume the position of chair at the ABA’s annual meeting in San Francisco on August 9 2013.
The ABA’s Section of Taxation is the US’s largest organisation of tax lawyers, with more than 23,000 members in the US.
