The US Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) has made two appointments to his legal team.
Michael McCarthy, who was formerly executive director of the Administrative Conference of the United States, has become chief counsel and Gladys Hernandez, who joined TIGTA as an attorney in 2000, has been appointed as his deputy.
TIGTA's Office of Chief Counsel provides legal guidance, advice and disclosure services to support TIGTA's mission of overseeing the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and protecting the integrity of tax administration.
