Lluis Fargas, director tax Europe at Alcoa – the world's leading producer of primary and fabricated aluminium – has been elected president of the European chapter of the Tax Executives Institute (TEI).
Fargas was elected during the TEI's Spring meeting in Geneva. He succeeds Clive Baxter of AP Møller Maersk.
The TEI is the leading international association for in-house tax professionals.
Before joining Alcoa in 1994, Fargas worked for five years with Coopers & Lybrand in the firm's Barcelona office as a senior tax manager in the international tax department.
